High-Speed Rail

The newly opened high-speed rail line links the major cities and towns of Taiwan from Taipei in the north to Kaohsiung in the south. Now the system is fully operational, travel time from one end of the island to another has been reduced to approximately 90 minutes.

Air-conditioned tourist express services operate daily on the trunk line between the seaports of Keelung on the north coast and Kaohsiung on the southwest coast, and also between Keelung and Taitung on the east coast.
