Given the small size and density of Singapore, and the comprehensive transit network, renting a car is generally not necessary.

A valid international driver's permit is required to rent a car in Singapore. Car rental services are available at the hotel.

Note that driving to Malaysia via the Causeway is only permitted if the petrol tank is three-quarters full. Also note that coupons for parking spaces must be purchased before you park from post offices or petrol stations.
