Five kilometers southeast of the Dalian city centre is Bangchui Island, which has a secluded sandy swimming beach. Taxis to this area are approximately 20 RMB (2.50 USD).

Other good swimming spots include the local Fujiazhuang Beach and Golden Pebble Beach, which is a beautiful recreation 60 km north of Dalian that also hosts a golf course and amusement park.
