Exploring Chengdu
About 10 km north of Chengdu, the Giant Panda Research Base is a research station and breeding ground for giant and lesser pandas. About 70 giant pandas reside here as part of the breeding efforts to save these amazing, yet fragile creatures. Visitors during the autumn months may have the opportunity to see tiny newborns in the facility's nursery.
